The brainchild of Alexander Barak , Diamonds.co.il has been established in 1997.
Being the first diamonds brokerage website on the net, it enables private customers as well as jewelers and dealers, to buy diamonds directly from dealers of the exchange In Ramat Gan, Israel.

Alex Barak was born in Israel in 1957. Shalom “Mundek” Bauchman, one of the veterans of the Israeli diamond industry, raised him. Back in the early 1940’s, Mundek was one of Israel’s first professional experts in diamond sawing.

In the beginning of the 50’s he was amongst the founders of the Israeli diamond exchange.

In the 1970’s Mundek abandoned sawing and became a pioneer in non-official private banking and currency services in the exchange. Many of today’s industry leaders owe their beginning to finance supplied by Bauchman.

Alexander Barak is a member of the Israeli diamond exchange since 1979. He is the CEO of Diamonds.co.il IT Ltd. and its major shareholder.
